About Us

1 in 6 people are not born in ireland.

Despite the obvious advantages of having gender and ethnic diversity in the workplace, migrants, women and non-binary people continue to lack access to the Irish tech and startup communities and the support system that comes with them.

By celebrating the diverse contributions of migrants and providing support to advance their careers, we can improve our ability to tap into the unexplored skills that help the global economy thrive.

GoingFar was created to address this, by offering a range of programmes, from mentoring to seminars and workshops. We have a network of over 2,000 people and have directly supported 800+ migrants since November 2018.

Testimonials

Leyla Karaha

Founder @ YourY Network

I didn't have a business idea but I knew I wanted to start my own thing. It was great meeting all the ladies and mentors. I learnt so much and I was so inspired. That's why I was inspired to apply to organise a Startup Week Dublin event the year after in an area that's close to my heart, social entrepreneurship. I have started YourY Network since, organising events and providing resources to social entrepreneurs.

Bruna Borges

Inside Sales Specialist @ Microsoft

I'm originally from Brazil and moved to Ireland in 2019. I have a background in Business Management, but when I arrived, it was hard for me to find a job in my area. I attended my first GoingFar workshop in May 2019, which was when I started to feel hopeful about building a career here. I learned a lot during these events and made key connections, which allowed me to get my dream job at Microsoft! This would not have been possible without the workshops promoted by GoingFar.

Hanan Swan

Founder @SlunchBox

I was very very impressed with the first edition of #GoingFar! The mentors were so enthusiastic, and they gave me a lot of helpful feedback. I was very nervous to participate but this was the perfect push I needed to start my own company. I founded Slunchbox to provide fresh, healthy, hot meals to schools in Ireland after the event. Since, we have raised almost €20,000 in donations and have delivered over 7,500 meals in Dublin and Cork.
